What is mediation?
As opposed to taking a matter to Court, mediation provides an alternative solution for the resolution of a dispute. Guided by mediator/s, a practical negotiation takes place giving everyone the opportunity to tell their side of the story, consider options, define issues and settle on a solution that suits them.
Who is able to carry out mediations?
Mediation is a process steered by mediators who are professionally qualified and experienced. Our lead mediator has a dual background as a solicitor and mediator as well as being trained in conflict management.
How does mediation work?
Mediation works when parties are willing to air their differences to someone who is impartial and objective. Rooms are used to ensure that each party has the opportunity to confidentially tell their side of the story, to the mediator. The role of the mediator is to steer both parties towards reaching a mutual which will be binding for each party. It is not the role of the mediator to make decisions or offer advice.
How much do mediation services in London cost?
Mediation fees vary and are dependent upon the value of a dispute or the type of dispute to be overseen. For example, per party, a dispute with a value of £50,000, is £600.00 for 4 hours and £1150.00 for a full day. Whereas a Community Mediation is based on an hourly rate of £150.00.
What are the benefits of using mediation?
As an alternative to the legal system, mediation can offer the following benefits:
Financial saving: as opposed to paying for individual legal representation, mediation is far more cost-effective. Results can be attained in a day, rather than amassing weeks, months or years of legal fees.

Results in one day: it’s worth repeating that mediation can result in a settlement being reached after only one day. A case in the court system meanwhile can take years to resolve.

In your time: unlike the legal system which dictates when and where meetings take place, the location and time set for your mediation session can be chosen by both parties.
Relationships mended: when a settlement has been agreed, there is a higher chance that relationships will improve over time. Why? Because both parties have had input into the outcome.
